Congratulations to one of our 18U Stern Players on her college commitment! Kelsi Henzie, a 2015 right handed SS/2nd/OF from El Capitan High School and San Diego Renegades – Stern 18U Gold, has committed to Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas as a student athlete. In November of 2014 Kelsi visited several colleges back in the Midwest. Finishing at the top was Bethany College. Coach Esses and the softball team made her feel like she was at home. Kelsi has proven herself on and off the field with her hard work and determination. Kelsi is the Senior Yearbook Editor, on the Avid Council, President of the Positive Movement club, and soon to be a 4 year letterman in softball. She has excelled in her AP courses and worked hard to get to this pay-off. Congratulations on her new journey to become a Bethany Swede! We are proud of you!

Klarissa Garcia, a 2015 right handed 3B/1B from Chaparral High School, Temecula, Ca with the San Diego Renegades- Stern 18 Gold, has committed to Kansas Wesleyan University as a student athlete, where she plans to major in Business Administration and Marketing. Klarissa is not only a leader off the field but is also a leader both defensively and offensively for the Renegades. Klarissa has a natural love for the game and has a competitive nature. Jessica Rubio, a 2015 Left-Handed Outfielder from Patrick Henry High School in San Diego and a 3 year athlete with the San Diego Renegades-Stern 18 Gold, has committed to Grossmont College as a student athlete. Jessica has excelled as a slap-hitter and excellent speed. Jessica has dedicated herself and worked very hard to improve her speed and outfield skills while playing for the SD Renegades-Stern 18 Gold. She will bring her work ethic and athletic skills to help Grossmont College succeed next year. This will be a great start for her, playing locally. Ultimately her goal is to transfer over to a four year university. We are very proud of Jessica and wish her the best!

Lindsay Maryon, a 2016 right handed pitcher and outfielder from La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad and a first year player with the San Diego Renegades – Stern 18 Gold.  Lindsay has committed to Kansas Wesleyan University as a student athlete and is planning to major in Criminal Justice.  Despite her age, Lindsay is an experienced pitcher with endless range in the outfield.  Lindsay is a leader in Center Field for the 18Gold Renegades. Her speed and glove have saved countless games this year. Lindsay posses a calm command on the mound and she makes other players around her better. Lindsay is a power hitter, who also hits for average, and possess blazing speed.  Congratulations Lindsay!  We are so proud of you!  Keep up the hard work!

Paige Barnes a 2015 right handed SS/2B/OF from Steele Canyon High School in the East County has played with the the San Diego Renegades Stern 18 Gold for one year. She has worked very hard both on the field and in the classroom. She is the ultimate team player who is willing to play any position to help her team reach success. On her high school teams she has earned both best defense and most inspirational. During this time she has learned many valuable lessons and has committed to Concordia University, Ann Arbor. Carly Pearson is a 2016 right handed 2nd basemen/SS from Grossmont High School in La Mesa, Ca and with the San Diego Renegades 18u Gold – Stern. Carly has committed to Concordia University Ann Arbor, Michigan as a Student Athlete. Carly fell in love with Concordia University the moment she walked on the campus and knew that the school, the softball program and Coach Brierley were going to be the right fit for her college years and to continue with her softball career. Carly has been the Varsity starting 2nd basemen, since her freshman year for her high school team. She plays the same position for The San Diego Renegades. Concordia’s softball Coach Brierley was impressed with Carly’s speed and play on the field. Carly brings knowledge of the game to the field, is a team player and an asset with her bat and fielding. Carly has proven herself on and off the field with her hard work, determination, and never give up attitude which has paid off for her to get to this next phase in her life. CONGRATS to Tess Eaton on her verbal to Carroll College in Helena, Montana. Tess, your commitment to school has paid off.
