Andy founded the Renegades along with Rosemary Gary when a few of the local players were looking to play at higher and more competitive levels. He is credited for growing the
Renegades into a multi-team, nationally recognized organization. Andy has since
started a new organization in Southern California.
Rosemary
Gary (1996-1998 & 2000-2001)
Along with Andy Anderson, Rosemary was
instrumental in the development of the organizational structure, business
practices and the over all success the Renegades enjoy today. Rosemary has been
an executive board member of the Rancho Peñasquitos Recreation Council since
the inception and through her hard work and efforts the organization obtained
Views West as our home field and thus allowing our teams a place to practice
and play games.
Rick
and Joann Petersen (1996-1997)
The Petersen's were co-founders of the Renegades and instrumental in the
development of the organizational structure and business practices used today.
Both were diligent funs raisers and supporters of the Renegades during their
time with the organization and daughter Kelly one of the first to come up with
the name “Renegades”
Jose and Carol Sainz (1996-2001) Besides being original founders and parents, there is not enough
room to list all the things these parents did for the organization. Not just
for their team but for every team in the organization. Besides being a coach
for several years, Jose was our sole pin designer each year allowing us
the reputation around the softball community of having the best pins always.
Jose was always ready to chip in when we needed him and performed duties as a
driver of the dreaded noisy team vans. He helped in the dugout making
sure the girls always were taped, cared for and had fluids. Carol was “The Team
Mom” and provided counseling to homesick girls; helped with everything from
laundry for the players, to margaritas for the coaches after hours. Carol
traveled with the team always and did everything the team required without
complaint. Both parents will be extremely missed.
Doug and Terri Edelbrock (1996-97 & 2000-01) The Edelbrock's were original founders of the Renegades and instrumental in
developing many of the practices and methods we still use today. Doug was one
of the original assistant coaches on the first two Renegades teams.
Steve Paz (1996-1997) Steve was a founding member and served as our hitting
instructor for the first two years before moving to Las Vegas.
Fabio Soto — Webmaster (2001-2007)
Fabio served as webmaster for the Renegades and worked tirelessly to keep team information up-to-date and provide useful information to the softball community.
