Congratulations to San Diego Renegades (Portugal) for winning 14U ASA-USA Junior Olympic Western Nationals and earning a berth to 16U USA-ASA Junior Olympic Nationals in 2008 in Owensboro, Kentucky. The team went a perfect 9-0 enroute to the championship.

Don Portugal's 16U team will hold a tryout on Sunday, August 19th, from 9 a.m. to noon at Canyonside Recreational Center (Field 5) in Rancho Peñasquitos (north San Diego County). 12U San Diego Renegades (Portugal) travels to Bloomington, Indiana to participate in ASA 12U Nationals. The team represented the organization well by finishing in the top 10, and was the highest ranked 12U team in San Diego County. The team compiled a 6-3 record en route to their 9th place finish.

12U San Diego Renegades (Portugal) travels to Illinois for the ASA Region 10 National Qualifier and brings home the gold to earn a berth to the 2006 ASA-USA Jr. Olympic 12U National Championship.

After finishing 7th in the So Cal States and earning a berth to the "2nd chance" Regionals held next month in Las Vegas, the 12U San Diego Renegades traveled to Illinois to try to earn a berth to ASA Nationals. After defeating two Chicago-area teams, the San Diego Renegades met up with the Riverside Wildcats in the Winner's Bracket Finals. The San Diego Renegades won 9-2. The next day, the Renegades played the Wildcats once more in the Championship game, where the San Diego Renegades won 13-5 in 5 innings. The 1st place finish earned the team a coveted berth to ASA Nationals to be held in Bloomington, Indiana. Congrats to ALL the young ladies on this team, who represented the San Diego Renegades organization with class.
