In February 2007, the Tillett/Fox Renegades team was invited to tour the UCLA campus and watch the Bruins practice. It was a great experience for the players.

06/18/07 – The San Diego Renegades Gold team (Tillett) qualified for the 2007 ASA 18 Gold Nationals in their first qualifier of the summer. The team went 4-0 in the Southern California Qualifier (Lancaster) with victories over Socal 3D, Dynasty, Lady Magic and California Breeze.

Tournament Talk

November 18-19, 2006
At the Batbusters Early Thanksgiving Showcase, the Renegades Gold Tillett went 5-0 and were impressive allowing only 3 runs all weekend.

vs. San Jose Sting – Won 9-0
Notables: With 15 hits in the game, the Renegades bats woke up early on Saturday. Megan Belio was 2 for 3; Shannon Tillett was 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs; Brenna Sandberg hit a 3 run home run; Amanda Ziegler was 2 for 2 with a sacrifice bunt and Vanessa Currie was 3 for 3 with a double and 3 RBIs. Defensively, Catcher Lauren Gellerman threw out a runner stealing 2nd and picked off another runner at 2nd. Chelsea Velovich pitched a 3 hit shutout and recorded 6 strikeouts.

vs. Washington Diamond Dusters – Won 8-1
Notables: Alix Johnson hit a bases-loaded single to bring in 2 runs. Maggie Doremus was 2 for 3 including a double. Shannon Tillett was 2 for 3 with a double. Brenna Sandberg pitched a 2 hitter. Defensively, SS Kellie Fox went deep into the hole behind second base to make a run saving out and 2B Maggie Doremus laid out to catch a line drive.

vs. Bellvue Blast – Won 5-0
Notables: Megan Belio hit a triple and Chelsea Velovich hit a double. Brenna Sandberg pitched a 1-hit shutout and recorded 4 strikeouts.

vs. California Sting Sacramento – Won 11-1
Notables: The bats were alive again where the team combined for 14 hits. Megan Belio was 3 for 3 with a double; Alix Johnson hit a 2 run home run; Maggie was 3 for 3 including a 3 run home run; Lauren Gellerman was 1 for 2 with a walk; Cassi Gibson was 1 for 1 with a walk and 1 run scored. Three pitchers, Sandberg, Velovich and Tillett, combined their efforts to produce a 1 hitter with 6 strikeouts.

vs. Gold Coast Eagles – Won 9-1
Notables:
Nikki Ketteringham went 2 for 2; Alix Johnson hit a 2 run homer; Kellie Fox had a double, a walk and scored 2 runs; Amanda Ziegler had a double, a walk and scored a run; Vanessa Currie walked, hit a single and scored a run. Melissa Tillett and Megan Belio combined their pitching efforts for a 1-hitter.
