Team Background

Welcome to the website of the San Diego Renegades - Margulies team. The Fall 2009 season will mark the fourth year together for this talented squad. Our goal for the 2009-2010 season is to earn a berth to the 2010 USA/ASA 16U Nationals in College Station,TX.

The Renegades Qualified For Nationals After Being Finalists at the Pacific Coast Regional in Vacaville, CA from July 10-12, 2009.  Congratulations Renegades!

Congratulations to the 14U San Diego Renegades (Margulies) team. After the team's strong showing at SoCal States, they qualified for ASA Nationals by finishing 2nd in the ASA 14U Regional Qualifier in Vacaville, CA. At the end of July, they will join the top 14U teams in the country in Marietta, Georgia to participate at Nationals.

High School Season 2009

We congratulate all of our Renegades players currently playing for their high school teams. Our players are representing 9 different high schools in the San Diego area. On our roster of 14 players, 7 earned Varsity placement, 6 on JV (with many likely to get Varsity call-ups during CIF playoffs), with 1 still in 8th grade. Congratulations Renegades!

Renegades (Margulies) team up with Kristie Fox

This season we are proud to announce that we are working with Kristie Fox, former All-American at the University of Arizona.  Kristie played her collegiate softball for Mike Candrea, U.S. Olympic coach, and she was a 2007 Finalist for College Player of the Year. Kristie is working with our Renegades team as a practice/instructional coach and brings a wealth of experience and training for our players.

The San Diego Renegades (Margulies) were finalists in the USTSA Grand Slam Fall Classic 16U Tournament in San Clemente, CA from September 20-21, 2008

USTSA Grand Slam Fall Classic Finalists (9/21/08)

The San Diego Renegades (Margulies) started the Fall 2008 season on a high note as Finalists in the USTSA Grand Slam Fall Classic Tournament in San Clemente on September 20-21, 2008.  Playing in the 16U Division, the Renegades went 4-1, going undefeated in pool play.  The team won an exciting international tie-breaker victory in the semifinal before falling in the championship game.  This tournament marked the first time our squad had played together this fall season.  As Finalists, the Renegades qualified for the USTSA National Tournament in July 2009.  Congratulations Renegades – a great start to the season!
