2/19/08: The San Diego Renegades 14U (Margulies) were Finalists in the Triple Crown President's Day Showdown Tournament in Temecula, CA, from February 16-18, 2008 (see photo below). The team competed in a field of 19 teams from California and Nevada. In only their second weekend of playing together, the Renegades (Margulies) squad started slowly in pool play, then came on in bracket play and won 3 straight games to reach the Championship Game. In the final, the Renegades were playing in their 4th game of the day and lost in an extremely close game to the American Stars, 3-2. Congratulations Renegades -- a great start to the season!

Season Recap: The San Diego Renegades (Margulies) completed a very successful 2006/2007 season by placing 33rd at ASA Nationals in Roseville, CA. The team went 3-2 overall at Nationals, winning their pool and losing two very close games in bracket play. Overall during the 2006/2007 season, the team won over 80 games, won two tournament Championships (Triple Crown Big League Dreams and the Region 13 National Qualifier Tournament) and won a coveted berth to ASA 12U Nationals. Congratulations Renegades on a great season!

San Diego Renegades 12U (Margulies) Qualify for 2007 ASA Nationals!

The San Diego Renegades 12U (Margulies) won the Championship at the Region 13 National Qualifier Tournament in Tucson, AZ on May 5-6. The championship gives the Renegades a berth to the USA-ASA Junior Olympic 12U Nationals Tournament in Roseville, CA from July 29-August 5, 2007. In the Tucson National Qualifier, the Renegades went 7-0 over two days. In the semi-final, the Renegades defeated Wacker Softball Academy of Arizona by a score of 9-1. In the Championship game, the Renegades faced a very good Southern California team, OC Wildcats. The Wildcats jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but the Renegades roared back to win 10-2. Congratulations Renegades!! -- On To Nationals!

Tournament Talk

The San Diego Renegades 12U (Margulies) won the championship of the Triple Crown Field of Dreams Tournament, held April 28-29 in Cathedral City, CA. The team went a perfect 7-0 in the tournament and outscored their opponents 61-8. The tournament field included 26 teams from Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona. Playing both days in temperatures over 100 degrees, the Renegades displayed great pitching and defense and put on an awesome display of hitting. In the championship game, the Renegades defeated Wacker Softball Academy of Arizona by a score of 7-1. The tournament victory raised the Renegades spring season record to 28-7. Congratulations Renegades!

The 12U San Diego Renegades (Margulies) played in the American Athletics' Toys For Tots Tournament in Laguna Niguel, CA on December 9-10. During pool play, the Renegades finished 3-0 and first in their pool. They outscored their opponents 30-2. Bracket games were unfortunately rained out.

The 12U San Diego Renegades (Margulies) participated in their first tournament of the 2006 fall season at the ASA Turkey Tournament in Chino Hills, CA from November 24-26. The Renegades finished with an overall record of 3-2 and outscored their opponents 32-11. In a tough quarterfinal game, the Renegades lost to the tournament champion Corona Angels 94 by a score of 3-2. Great first tournament Renegades!
